Using Social Gallery to promote sharing of your NextGen Gallery Images
This is a super quick guide to getting NextGen Gallery working with Social Gallery v2.2.
Step 1. Go into your WordPress admin, click Social Gallery -> Settings and select “NextGen Compatibility Mode” from the Mode selector:
*Note – if you enable “Automatically disable NextGen Effect” step’s 2 and 3 should be automatically done for you, but it’s probably worth checking them!
Step 2. Go to Gallery->Options in your WordPress admin area, click on the “Effects” tab and select “None” from the dropdown.
If there is anything in this box when “None” is selected then you may need to clear this box – “Custom” and an empty box is also an acceptable setting here.
Step 3. In Gallery->Options in your WordPress admin area, click on the “Gallery” tab – make sure “Show ImageBrowser” is unchecked and save the options.
… Provided you have these settings saved in both Social Gallery and NextGen you should now have your blog set up to show Social Gallery for your NextGen galleries. All that leaves to do is to make/insert some galleries!
Note: If you have “Social Gallery Pages” enabled you will need to add any galleries you want to show to pages/posts and run a Social Gallery Scan – this will make Social Gallery find all of your new gallery images!
